Mickey Stephens deLaup grew up in North Louisiana and has resided in Metairie since graduating law school in 1981. In recent years her law firm, Mickey S. deLaup, APLC, had offices in the greater New Orleans area (Metairie) and in Monroe, Louisiana. She has more than 40 years’ experience as an attorney practicing in all state and Federal courts in Louisiana. Her practice and trial experience include, product liability, public entity litigation, construction litigation, toxic tort, premises liability, medical malpractice, bad faith, breach of contract, defamation, civil rights violations, property damages and personal injury matters.  She was on the panel at maps several years ago and has recently rejoined the panel after retiring from operating her litigation firm. Ms. deLaup was also an assistant district attorney in the Appeals Section for District Attorney Paul Connick in the 24th JDC. She has been a longtime Fellow in the Louisiana Bar Foundation & was one of the founders and members of the John Boutall American Inns of Court. She has been recognized by Martindale Hubbell as one of a few select Pre-eminent Women Attorneys, and has been listed as a Top Lawyer/Super Lawyer for over a decade. She was selected as one of Women Leaders in the Law by Fortune Magazine, Who’s Who in American Law, a Leader in Law by New Orleans City Business (2014) and is rated AV by Martindale Hubbell by both peers and Judges. Ms. deLaup devoted much of her time to promoting free legal assistance to those in need and served on the Board of the then named New Orleans Pro Bono Project serving as Chair in 1993. She also served on the board of the then named NOLAC, New Orleans Legal Assistance Corporation, serving as Secretary in 1992 after serving on the board from 1991-1994.
