JUDGE CORNELIUS E. “CONN” REGAN (ret.)  graduated from Loyola School of Law in 1977 and began his legal career as an Assistant District Attorney for Orleans Parish. From 1981 through 1986, he served as an  Assistant District Attorney for Jefferson Parish. In1986, he was appointed as a Domestic Hearing Officer for the 24th Judicial  District Court. From 1986 through 1996, he maintained a private practice representing both insurance and personal injury clients.  

 

In 1997, he returned to the Jefferson Parish District Attorney’s office as “Chief of Trials”. During this time, he also served as  Secretary and later, a President of the Assistant District Attorneys Section of the Louisiana District Attorneys Association. In  October, 2006, he was elected as District Judge of Division “B” in the 24th Judicial District Court. He was re-elected without  opposition in 2008 and 2014 and served as Chief Judge from January 2016 through December 2017. While on the bench, he was  appointed by the Governor to serve on the Louisiana Sentencing Commission and also completed a 40 hour course in Civil  Mediation offered by the National Judicial College. Just recently, he was appointed by the Governor, as a member of the “Board of  River Port Pilot Review and Oversight Commission.
