JUDGE M. LAUREN LEMMON is a retired judge and seasoned attorney with 34 years of legal experience. She specializes as a mediator and mindfulness instructor. Lauren combines her deep understanding of the law with a unique approach to conflict resolution that emphasizes clarity, empathy and creativity. Her expertise as a judge allows her to navigate complex legal disputes, while her mindfulness practice brings calm and focus to even the most challenging negotiations. Lauren’s approach promotes respectful conversations with a commitment to mutual understanding and resolution, giving hope for positive outcomes. Lauren is certified in mediation from the National Judicial College, where she is also a faculty member teaching Mindfulness for Judges. She is certified in Compassion Cultivation Training. As a judge, Lauren founded the local chapter of the Children and Youth Services Planning Board and the Juvenile Drug Court Program. She co-founded the local Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program and the St. Charles CARE Center. She was instrumental in expanding the Youth Empowerment Project into St Charles Parish. She participated in the Louisiana Governor’s Conference on Juvenile Justice, sat as an adult and juvenile drug court judge, and sat ad hoc on the Louisiana Fifth Circuit Court of Appeal. Judge Lemmon teaches continuing legal education in professionalism, ethics, trauma informed practices, motivational interviewing, wellness and mindfulness for many agencies, including for the National Judicial College, Louisiana Judicial College, Louisiana State Bar Association, Louisiana Association for Justice, Louisiana Association for Defense Counsel, Louisiana Judges and Lawyers Assistance Program and Florida Judicial Wellness Program.
