JOSEPH POUSSON is an experienced mediator and attorney with more than three decades of legal practice in personal injury, insurance, and complex contractual and commercial matters. Drawing on his deep understanding of both sides of disputes—from individual claimants to large corporations and insurers—Joseph brings balance, insight, and pragmatism to every mediation.
He began practicing law in 1994 and has since built a reputation as a strategic thinker and trusted advisor to CEOs, founders, and boards of startups and established companies alike.
His background includes serving as General Counsel to high-growth ventures, successfully guiding them through complex negotiations, regulatory challenges, and corporate transitions—including taking one company public on Nasdaq. Joseph’s broad litigation experience and his role in major claims, such as one of the largest successful COVID-related business interruption recoveries in the United States, give him a unique perspective on dispute resolution. He has also handled multi-party international construction disputes in federal courts, including the USVI, involving construction sites, refineries and distilleries, equipping him to mediate high-stakes, technically complex cases with confidence and clarity.
His recent judicial appointment to the 14th Judicial District Court (Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana), unanimously approved by the Louisiana Supreme Court, further reflects his integrity, even-handedness, and respect within the legal community.
In addition to his mediation and legal work, Joseph remains engaged in the business and civic community through board service, mentorship, and local initiatives. His mediation practice is grounded in decades of practical, real-world experience, helping parties move past conflict toward resolution and closure.
