John Jones is a senior partner at the Jackson, Mississippi law firm of Griffin Jones Law Firm, PLLC. A native of Jackson and a product of the Jackson public schools and Murrah High School, he attended Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi (“Ole Miss”) for an undergraduate double major in English and History. He returned to Ole Miss for graduate school in history before switching to Ole Miss Law School, where he receivied his J.D. He served a clerkship from 1985-86 with United States District Judge Tom S. Lee, Southern District of Mississippi, before starting in private practice in Jackson, where he is currently. He has published articles and papers on both legal and non-legal issues, including over 50 papers in his fields of concentration: workers’ compensation; insurance litigation of all types including “bad faith” tort actions arising in the first-person-contract and compensation settings; contract law; employment law; and a broad personal injury practice.
