Bobby Harges is a tenured professor of law at Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Prior to his arrival at Loyola, Mr. Harges practiced law in New Orleans, specializing in civil and construction litigation. He also taught at the University of Mississippi School of Law. Before entering law school, he worked as an electrical engineer. Mr Harges has mediated over 1,000 cases of all types, personal injury, insurance, securities, construction, commercial, labor, and employment matters. He is proficient in French and conversational in Spanish.

Professor Harges has authored and co-authored several books, including The Handbook on Louisiana ADR Laws (Esquire Books), Louisiana DWI (Thomson/Reuters), Louisiana Evidence (Thomson/West) with Russell Jones, and the Louisiana Criminal Law Treatise (Esquire Books) with Wendy Shea. He has also written for many years the “Recent Developments in Alternative Dispute Resolution” article for the Louisiana Bar Journal. He is also the author of “From Family Law to Legacy Disputes: The Many Uses of Alternative Dispute Resolution Techniques in Louisiana”(Co-author with Ilijana Todorovic) 64 La. B.J. 194 (Oct./Nov. 2016) and “Disaster Mediations in Mississippi – The Influx of Public Adjusters Into Mississippi After Hurricane Katrina Compels Mississippi Legislature to Enact the Mississippi Public Adjuster Act,” 77 Miss. L. J. 761 (2008).
