Joe Hassinger is the owner and managing director of maps. He joined the maps mediation and arbitration panels many years ago, and in 2019 acquired the firm from the founding members. Joe has mediated and arbitrated hundreds of cases across a broad range of practice areas including personal injury, trucking, construction defect, insurance coverage, hurricane and storm claims, first party property, bad faith, UM/UIM, contractual disputes, business breakups, D&O liability, employment and others. Joe also serves as an Umpire or Chair in three-member arbitral tribunals.

 

Prior to his retirement from the practice of law in 2022, Joe devoted thirty years to trying and litigating cases in state and federal courts representing both plaintiffs and defendants.

 

Joe frequently presents lectures to law firms and to local and national Bar and industry organizations. He has presented on mediation, negotiation and leadership as an Instructor for the maps Basic and Advanced Training Programs, the CLM Claims College School of Mediation, Loyola Law School and Tulane Law School. Joe also serves as an adjunct professor at Tulane Law School for Negotiation and Mediation Advocacy.
