Glenda Barkate

Ms. Barkate is admitted to practice in the Louisiana Bar and Federal Courts.  She was an associate in the firm of Gordon, Arata, McCollam & Duplantis specializing in commercial and civil litigation. She worked as a contract lawyer for various firms in the New Orleans area in the fields of personal injury, road hazard, mass tort, workers’ compensation and commercial litigation, from both the defense and plaintiff perspectives. Ms. Barkate was Of Counsel with a firm appointed by the State of Louisiana to represent State medical providers’ interests and lien rights in tort suits. Glenda has been a member of maps’ panel since 1991, having done well over 3,000 mediations. She served on the four-member Council for the ADR section of the Louisiana State Bar Association. Ms. Barkate taught a mediation skills course at Loyola Law School for 7 years and has assisted in the training of new mediators.
